"The Most Beautiful Balcony Competition" was organized within the scope of the "We Join Forces for the Green Future Project " 7 to 70 Green Future Campaigne ", which we carry out within the scope of the Town Twinning-II (For a Green Future) Grant Scheme between Turkey and the EU, in order to draw attention to the World Climate Day on 15 May, to reduce the heat island effect in cities, to soften the cold appearance of buildings, to create vertical green areas and to increase public awareness of greenery.
Between April 25 and May 13, announcements were made on project social media and municipal social media accounts, and jury members were determined. Contest specifications have been published. Participants created registration according to the relevant criteria from google form and municipal whatsapp lines and sent their balcony photos. (The prizes of the award-winning balcony competition will be covered by the municipal budget.) Participation in the competition was made until May 13, 17:30, and a total of 16 participants participated in the competition.
On May 13, 2024 at 17:40 at the Çine Municipality Meeting Hall, our jury members convened for evaluation. The images of the balconies of the competitors projected on the projection screen were examined one by one. In the evaluation, attention was paid to the criteria of well-maintained, decorative, flowering and plant layout of the balcony and the harmony of these combinations.
The results of the evaluation were announced on the municipality's Facebook page and the names and balcony images of the 5 participants were published. A 1.5-day public survey/voting was conducted on the social media account for the selection of the first 3 winners. 2754 people participated in the voting, which was stopped at 23.59 on May 14. This was the first time such a contest was organized with citizen participation and the high participation and interest of the citizens is pleasing. It is planned to organize this contest every year and make it traditional.
