Çı̇ne Municipality is Preparing A Sustainable Energy And Climate Adaptation Action Plan.

Çı̇ne Municipality Organized Greenhouse Gas Mitigation And Climate Change Adaptation Workshops.

A Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plan SECAP for Çine is being prepared within the scope of the "We Join  Forces for the Green Future Project" that we are implementing under the Town Twinning-II (For a Green Future) Grant Scheme between Turkey and the EU. SECAPs are one of the most important pillars of urban coalitions that have started to become partners at the state level in the negotiations to combat climate change on a global scale. In this context, Çine Municipality calculates greenhouse gas emissions at both institutional and district scales and works to reduce its emissions by a minimum of 55% by 2030.

At the same time, preparing cities for climate change-induced disasters, protecting them from potential climate hazards and increasing the resilience of cities against climate change are among the prioritized goals of cities. In this direction, Çine Municipality aims to reduce the vulnerability of the city to these disasters with the strategies it will develop in combating the effects of climate change within the scope of SECAP. The preparation process of the "Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plan" includes a series of multi-actor and multi-disciplinary activities. The workshops organized in this context are held with the participation of experts and authorities on issues such as buildings, transportation, waste-wastewater, renewable energy, agriculture and animal husbandry, disaster and water management, green areas in Çine.

In the process led by Çine Municipality Directorate of Parks and Gardens, our internal and external stakeholders were invited to the workshops and our workshops were successfully completed with a total of 80 people.
